Rachel’s Remedies continues their success

After taking the top’s prize at Bright Buffalo Niagara, Rachel’s Remedies was greeted with more exciting news, being awarded as a semi-finalist for Buffalo’s 43North competition.

Rachel E. Jackson is the founder and CEO of Rachel’s Remedies, a Buffalo-based manufacturer of natural consumer medical supplies. The company manufacturers the first FDA-cleared relief packs for nursing mothers and Jackson quickly has become recognized for her achievements at one of WNY’s most well-known high-growth startups.

With the 20 thousand dollars won from Bright Buffalo Niagara, the company plans on using the funds for product development and licensing interests from third parties. A co-branding effort with Dr. Brown has provided the company with an opportunity to scale and reach over 58 million breastfeeding moms with a plan to be on shelves in stores by late August.

“Right now, locally there is still that old school mentality when it comes to funding,” Jackson says. “We are hoping to see that change while we are still in the funding phase and we know a lot people in that world want it to change,” she adds.

Rachel’s Remedies has plans to expand its distribution across the United States and abroad. But, Jackson also remains committed to contributing to positive growth in the Buffalo region.

“The community here is really overflowing with opportunity and people willing to give good advice. There are really great and willing mentors who are wanting to help,” Jackson says.
